2014
1. [Brazil] Offshore Sergipe in 2790mUltraDeepwater Sergipe-Alagoas Basin a 40m thick reservoir with good porosity and high gas was encountered with light 41degAPI oil. Well name BMSEAL4/Moita Bonita/BRSASES.

2. [Equador] Oglan 2 an exploration well southeast of Quito TD 6450ft intersected at  236ft NOS 16deg API.. 1100B/D production well test.

3. [Colombia] Hydrocarbons discovered at well Nueva Esperanza -1 at block CPO-9. Production tested at 910bbls / day at 8deg API, 2% W/C. 309ft of perforations at T2 formation.

2015.
1. [Trinidad] Goudron Sandstone a shallow oil bearing formation flowing 60bopd - 100bopd. The sand thickness is around 275ft and wells TD hardly deeper than 1200ft-TVD. The sandstone holds over 40% of the Formations estimated oil in place, 805 million bbls. Hard formations with no mud losses are located deeper than 3000ft at bottom which often breaks bit and prevents TD from being reached via land rigs. Other sands of interest would be the Gros Morne and the Pre-Mayaro Unconformities. High mud weights over 16ppg stuck pipe scenarios by failure to reverse circulate effectively expected with gas cut kicks. Electrical problems at times. Look out for shallow and very shallow free formation gas intervals. Total drill time is over 21 days.

2. [Cuba]  An onshore oil block approximately 2380km2, Block 9 is under exploration. Cuba boasts exceptional oil and gas productivity. The Motembo and the Varadero fields are worth mentioning of this proven hydrocarbon system. Estimated to be 8 million barrels oil in place.

3. [Brazil] fields Berbigao, Sururu, Atapu confirmed Lara Area Santos Basin, offshore Rio de Janeiro. Water Depth 2270m. Oil quality 24- 30DegApi.

4. [Colombia] Llanos Basin Langur-1x well 24DegApi, 24hrs stabilized to 760b/d at 27% W/C. Natural flow but fitted on ESP for 1000bopd.

1. [North Falkland] Isobel Deep well a redrill confirming hydrocarbons 9,890ft covering several sandstone reservoirs within the last 2000ft.

2. [Brazil] Output is accounting for 40% of refinery facility capacity. This is in the Libra oil field Santos and Campos Basin. In 52 pozos, 10 yrs discovery 500,000bopd achieved after 2 yrs of production. Well 3RJS742A 112mi off Rio de Janeiro coast boasts thickest oil column of 1345ft. FPSO Cidade de Caraguataba MV27, Brasilian Owned,  for installation of the ex-Carioca oil field supplying feed, storage 1.6 MMbbls, processing gas 177MMcf/d and oil 100,000b/d. First oil from FPSO vessel Cidade de Saquarema in the Lula field.

3. [Guyana] World class discovery offshore Guyana 2nd exploration well Liza-2, Stabroek Block. Comparable to the Jubilee field of Ghana. Estimated up to 1.4 Bbls OIIP. Production well test data being assessed. 190ft oil bearing sandstone reservoir in the Upper Cretaceous formations. TD 18000t. Water Depth 5551ft. 800MM -1.4Bboe Recovery Estimated.

4. [Argentina]
Mendoza Province a discovery made in the Chachahuen Block. 20ft NOS by exploration well name Cerro Redondo x-1 targeting the Rayoso formation.  Gas found at La Orilla x-1 also an exploration well for deeper Lotena formation. Gas in well name  Remanso del Colorado x1 at the deeper Cuyo Group. See Link.

Petroleos de Venezuela SA $3.2 billion in development work adding horizontal infill wells in the Orinoco Heavy Oil Delta Area. Local tenders to increase oil production up to $250,000bbld over 30 months. The program is aiming at 480 producing wells and 18 rigs.

2017.
1. [Guyana]
Well #1-Payara discovery significant to Liza Stabreok high oil bearing sandstone regional geography NOS 95ft, 18,800ft drill depth two sidetracks and additional testing

2. [Trinidad]
Goudron sandstone formation, Mayaro Sandstone and the Goudron field are of highlight to offer an increase of immediate oil  production for the country. Oil values could be peaked if production tested starts early. Infill wells are planned and rig is mobilized. Any formation gas should be identified for the Trinidad Onshore Compression Facility or for local sales gas. The well is expected to flow naturally with open choke. NOS packages of over 250ft expected for further drills of the Mayaro Sandstone at 300-1000ft and deeper towards the actual Goudron Sandstone formation.

Heavy Oil

The Western Hemisphere possesses 69 percent of the world's technically recoverable heavy oil and 82 percent of the technically recoverable natural bitumen. In contrast, the Eastern Hemisphere possesses about 85 percent of the world's light oil reserves. Heavy oil and natural bitumen are present worldwide. The largest extra-heavy oil accumulation is the Venezuelan Orinoco heavy-oil belt containing 90 percent of the world's extra-heavy oil when measured on an in-place basis. Eighty-one percent of the world's known recoverable bitumen is located in the Alberta, Canada accumulation. Together the two deposits contain about 3,600 billion barrels of oil in place.

Coal

A black or brown rock that can be ignited or burned. When coal burns it produces energy as heat. This heat is mainly used to produce electricity. An increase in the use of coal could lead to a reduction in the need for non-renewable resources ; oil and gas. Coal has developed from the remains of plants that died 400million to 1million years ago. It is referred to as fossil fuel. Coal forming plants probably grew in swamps. No reliable estimates exist for the total amount of coal that lies beneath the earth's surface.

Oil and Gas Trinidad GDP

Oil and gas operations account for at least 40% of Trindad and Tobago's GDP.

Organic material deposited by the Orinoco Delta movement millions of years ago feeds the demand of the public.
